    Thanks for your feedback.

The iPod nano (generations 5, 6, and 7) includes a built-in pedometer that tracks your step count. You can use the pedometer for session-based step counting or all-day step counting.

Pedometer data is not uploadable to Nikeplus.com, but it can be easily viewed in your iPod nano's workout history.

Click the generation of iPod you're using (below) to view detailed instructions on recording your steps and viewing your activity data.

    iPod nano (7th generation)
    • On your home screen, tap "Fitness."
    • If you're using the Fitness features on your iPod nano for the first time, tap the "i" icon to access your Fitness preferences and customize your height and weight. (Customizing your height and weight will allow your iPod nano to calculate your caloric burn.)
    • If you want to track your steps in a session-based workout, tap "Walk" > "Start" to begin recording steps. Tap "End" to end the session.
    • If you want to track your steps against a daily goal, tap the "i" icon in Fitness and toggle Daily Step Goal to the on position. Use the onscreen dial to select your desired goal. Tap "Done" and then return to the home screen. When you're ready to begin tracking steps against your goal, tap "Fitness" > "Walk" > "Start."
    • You can view your step count at any time by tapping "Fitness" > "Walk" from your home screen. Swipe left to view daily, weekly, monthly, and overall totals.
    iPod nano (6th generation)
    • On your home screen, tap "Fitness" > "Walk."
    • If you're using the Fitness features on your iPod nano for the first time, use the onscreen dial to customize your height and weight and then tap "Save." (Customizing your height and weight will allow your iPod nano to calculate your caloric burn.) If you skip this step now, you can customize your height and weight later in Fitness > Settings.
    • If you want to track your steps in a session-based workout, tap "Start" in Fitness > Walk. Tap "Stop" to end your session.
    • If you want to track your steps against a daily goal, from your home screen tap "Settings" > "Fitness" > "Walk" and move the toggle to the on position. Then use the onscreen dial to select your desired goal. Tap "Done." Return to your home screen and tap "Fitness" > "Walk" > "Start" to begin counting your steps.
    • You can view your step count at any time by tapping "Fitness" > "Walk" from your home screen. Swipe left to view daily, weekly, monthly, and overall totals.
    iPod nano (5th generation)
    • From your iPod nano's main menu, navigate to Extras > Fitness > Settings > Pedometer.
    • If you're using the Fitness features on your iPod nano for the first time, select Weight and use the click wheel to enter your weight. Press the Center button to enter. (Entering your weight will allow your iPod nano to calculate your caloric burn.)
    • Click "Menu" to return to Pedometer.
    • If you'd like to track your steps in a session-based workout, tap "Manual." You can then tap "Start" to begin your session and Stop to end your session.
